I'm looking for two long-term partners for this RPs. I really want to finish this RPs to the end. This will be a drama, romance story.
We will be following a simple writing formula, rules that will hopefully help us write a story that you can be proud off. Good grammar and spelling is a plus. I am not a grammar Nazi; I am prone to mistakes too. I highly encourage the use of a word processor and spell check and prove reading your writings before posting. The quality of writing is important ? the quality does equal quantity. I expect your post lengths to be at least 400 words in about three to four good paragraphs, four to five sentences each. The longer you write the easier it becomes to develop the story line. Finding an appropriate length is debatable. I can be a stickler about these kinds of things, so please forgive me in advance. However, don?t be discouraged too easily. I am flexible, but I would never give you a one liner reply; only fair I expect the same level of writing from my partners.
Everything in character is to be written in past tense/third person limited. Limited means that your writing should only contain your character?s thoughts ? you will not be able to know what other people are thinking, mostly because they aren't your character. Dialogue, begins a new line for each new speaker. Italics are to be used for emphasis and your character?s thoughts. A third-person subject is a generalized subject, one that is not "I" (the writer) or "you" (the reader). A fictional narrative, for example, you will create your third-person subject. Identify the third-person subject by name or using personal pronouns such as "he," "she" or "they." How you create the past tense of the verb depends on the verb you choose. Regular verbs take a "-d" or "-ed" ending to make them past tense -- for example, "dance" becomes "danced," and "ask" becomes "asked." Irregular verbs do not follow this past-tense rule and instead have a distinct verb for the past tense form: For example, "see" becomes "saw," and "run" becomes "ran."
Setting:
1816 Regency era United Kingdom.
Roles to fill:
Duke of St Albans and Catherine Mesons. (I will be taking the role of Cressica Kingsly.)
Plot:
New Money ?The Duke of St Albans was born and raised an English blue blood. He held a high social status among the Le Bon Ton, but gambling debts and the changing times of 1816 forced him to either sell off land or marry into the new class of wealthy class to maintain his lavish lifestyle. His options: The young and exciting Cressica Kingsly ? an actress who married the incredibly wealthy banker, Jasper Coutts ? a widow with an inheritance of over two million pounds, or the innocent debutante, Catherine Mesons, the daughter of Edward Mesons ? an affluent tradesman with the right connections to the gentry. Though they lack noble blood they have wealth and an acceptable social status. But for all its excess the Regency upper-class lived and died by rules. Climbing the social ladder could take generations, particularly into the aristocracy who do not readily accept those of inferior birth into their ranks.
Notes: As soon as the two roles are filled I will set up the RPs. But if you have a better plot let me know.
Suffice to say, I enjoy roleplays that I can escape into.
