PNC President William Demchak has been named CEO.
PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC) CEO James Rohr is leaving his executive post a year before his retirement, handing the reins to PNC President William Demchak, the Pittsburgh Business Times reports.
Rohr, 64, will stay involved with the bank as executive chairman of the board.
Demchak joined PNC in 2002 as CFO and has been president since April 2012. He previously worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), according to his LinkedIn profile.
"Bill has demonstrated exceptional leadership since joining PNC in 2002. As president, he drove customer growth by successfully aligning our businesses to deliver the entire company for our clients," Rohr said in a statement. "His candor and work ethic have earned him the trust of employees and investors, and the confidence of PNC's board. He deserves the opportunity to steer PNC into the future."
